Why do I need a headshot?
Your headshot is your presentation to the world: whether you’re a corporate executive, small business owner or aspiring artist. As one of your primary marketing tools, your headshot gets you noticed and get you work by connecting your brand to people through an image of you that reveals your personality and conveys your approachability, friendliness and professionalism. You get one chance to make a first impression – why not make it one that people will remember?
What is a great headshot?
It takes more than just expensive equipment. It’s the combination of lighting, poses, expressions and compositions that bring out your personality. To look natural, you need to feel comfortable. A skilled headshot photographer like Carola of Rolaa Photography will capture your personality and will ensure it comes through in the final product. Throughout your session, Carola will use her special knack to make you feel relaxed, positioning favourably and most importantly, will say the right words to evoke warm and spontaneous expressions.
Headshots meet today’s marketing demands and can be used in all areas of your personal branding. It allows people to relate your face with your virtual identity and brings you a step closer to connect. Although headshots look and feel timeless like a strong trademark, I encourage you to update your headshot every year or two. This way your headshot stays consistent with your product as styles change.
Social Media and alternative uses of headshots
Use your headshot to build visibility of your logo and connect with potential clients and networks. Which ever professional and social media sites you use, your headshot will make your presence more powerful. You may use it on Linkedin, Twitter, Google+, your Blog avatar or account profile and anywhere you have a presence online. From the signature of your email to your online profile, a professionally-taken headshot shows people you care about the details and your personal appearance. Which are direct reflections of how you handle your business.
How do I prepare for my headshot photoshoot?
The camera captures what you are feeling, so come prepared feeling your best. Get plenty of sleep the night before, eat light and healthy the day of the shoot. For all gentlemen: please don’t forget to shave. You may even consider hiring a professional makeup artist or hair stylist. However, please don’t change your regular hygiene regime just before the photoshoot as you may react to unfamiliar new products.
What do I wear for my headshot photoshoot?
Keep your style simple. Light to medium-dark colours are generally more flattering than green, black or navy. Avoid all-white and busy patterns that distract from your face. As the name already implies, a headshot covers of your head and upper shoulders. Therefore choose something that falls well on your collarbone and flatters your neckline. Most importantly, remember to relax and smile.
Outdoor & Creative Photoshoots
Many clients choose on-location and creative spots to stand out and make a statement. I will find the environment that best compliments you without sacrificing the power of a simple background. Whatever makes you feel relaxed, confident and in your element. From journalists, artists to scientists, my goal at Rolaa Photography is to capture your essence so you can keep doing what you love most.
Traditional Indoor & Corporate Photoshoots
Traditional headshots are most commonly used for corporate catalogues, brochures, company publications, press releases, marketing materials and ‘Our Team’ and ‘About Us’ pages on company websites. We can create a non-dramatic, simple-lighting setup for the most flattering shot of you that highlights your aptitude, intellect and professionalism at a location of your choice.
Session prices start at 100€ and do not require a minimum investment.
