The other day, my friend and I were so busy shooting each other with amazing results. Then it got too dark to take any good shots without an additional light source and/or tripods. Of course, we hadn’t planned for this, so we just had our cameras on us.
As we were still fired up, we played around with the torches of both of our iPhones. My friend had an iPhone in each hand and held it up so that the least shadows would be cast on her face.
Here are some of our results:
Do you want to try this hack? Here is what you will need:
- 2 phones with a built-in torch
- A willing model who happens to be a good sport
- Your camera
Now just shoot away. Obviously avoid pointing your camera towards the phone torches, but we found that all relatively easy to set up & use.
Tip: unless you want a ghoulish look, avoid having your light sources below the horizon and the model, best are lights shining from above onto the model (guess which photo I’ll be using as my Halloween photo ;-)).
But of course, you can also play around creating a silhouette with this light!
Have you tried this hack? Did it work for you?
